Some time ago I pointed out to my WordPress and FB readers that NAZI stood for National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
The reason I pointed this out is because many Americans tend to think of the Nazi’s as an organization from the right-wing of politics simply because the Russian Communists were their enemies (and a lot of other people).
What is forgotten is the fact that socialism, Marxism, Communism, progressives are all forms of collectivism that diminish individual rights. Yes, they can vary by degree of violence used to achieve their goals but the end game is the same-government control in order to support the great collective.
The last time I wrote about this someone took me to task saying it was wrong to compare Stalin and Mao to US Progressives like the President because the President has killed no one. That certainly is true, but it is not what I was comparing. I was comparing ideas and philosophies of government and how the left tends to commemorate people like Lenin, Mao, Castro and Che even though they were responsible for the deaths of millions, not unlike the Nazi’s.
Ideas have consequences and it never ceases to amaze me how the left is so blatantly hypocritical. I believe, that as a whole, the movement’s only principle is the ends justify the means.
But don’t take my word for it. Here is a link to Walter William’s column for today. He is way smarter than me. Here’s the link and my favorite take away line:
Today’s leftists, socialists and progressives would bristle at the suggestion that their agenda differs little from those of Nazi, Soviet and Maoist mass murderers. One does not have to be in favor of death camps or wars of conquest to be a tyrant. The only requirement is that one has to believe in the primacy of the state over individual rights.
